Kevan Dean, husband and father of two adult children, received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering with Minor in Physics and Mathematics from Florida State University and a Master’s of Science in Engineering Management from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with the Association of Energy Engineers and most recently received his “Disaster Risk Management Train The Trainer Workshop” train the trainer certificate of completion. With almost 30 years of professional experience, he began his career at Florida Power Corporation specializing in Demand Side Management, System Protection and Controls and Energy Risk Management. For almost two decades he has been employed with the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino with responsibility for Energy Conservation, Power Reliability/Quality, Environmental Compliance, Recycling. His a primary focus and responsibilities is Emergency Preparedness which includes, Fire Life Safety, Risk and Disaster Management to include Hurricane Preparedness. He supports several youth and community development initiatives and programs and is an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy Elizabeth Estates where is a lay minister.
